• Account data: name, email, password (hashed), profile photo, date of birth.
• Learning data: chosen exams, tests generated, attempts, scores, weak areas.
• Uploaded content: PDF study materials you upload (Premium).
• Usage data: pages visited, features used, error logs.
• Device data: browser type, IP address (approximate location), device type.

2. How we use it

• To provide personalized tests and weak-area analysis.
• To manage your account and keep it secure.
• To improve the product (aggregate analytics).
• To send important updates and, if you opt in, marketing emails.

3. Where we store it

Data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure (primarily in India/Asia). Sensitive fields are encrypted at rest.

4. Sharing with third parties

• AI providers: your test prompts are sent to AI models — without personal identifiers.
• Analytics: aggregate, anonymised data only.
• We do not sell your data.

5. Cookies

Essential cookies are used for session management. Third-party analytics cookies can be disabled in your browser settings.

6. Your rights (DPDP Act, 2023)

• Right to access your data
• Right to correct or update it
• Right to erasure (the "right to be forgotten")
• Right to grievance redressal

7. Data retention

We retain your data while your account is active. Data is permanently deleted 30 days after account deletion, subject to legal obligations.

8. Children

Taksha is not designed for users under 13. Users between 13 and 18 require parent/guardian consent.

9. Changes

We will notify you of policy changes by email and a notice on the website. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
